Although many design trends are fleeting, some of them are a natural evolution of the industry. Growing range of devices on which we browse the web, requires developers to continuously adapt its technology to meet the dynamic changes that occur in web design.
To find out what trends will flourish over the next year, I asked the members of the project team Webydo, developers web design platform, so they told us what they believe will be the top 7 main trends in web design for 2015.
1. Flexible Typography
Emphasis on the role played by content expressed an attempt to present the word in accordance with the developing typographic principles.
The reality is that the typography on the Internet is very different from the circuit, and in 2015 we finally get rid of the last old-fashioned beliefs, because of which the text still looks too small and tight on most sites.
This is nothing new: even though the concept is discussed since 2006, but the design community is in no hurry to adapt. Hard to part with the principles that are guided in design for many years.
There are three main aspects that affect the readability of text on the web:
- size
- column width
- row height
Studies have repeatedly shown that large font sizes contribute to more easily read on the Internet. Designers have already begun to implement a flexible typography together with responsive images and structures in their work. For text, you should always look their best, regardless of platform.
2. Automation layout
In web development always present a certain division of labor: the designers pored over the look and coders to ensure that everything worked. But this process is changing as tools for web design are getting smarter, more functional and more ambitious.
Today, designers can create websites without writing a single line of code using the same powerful functionality of their graphics programs and receiving W3C-valid, clean code.
This marks a paradigm shift, which reduces the barrier to entry for designers who now have a convenient solution for the design and implementation of modern, professional websites for their clients.
While they focus on the quality of their design, algorithms behind the chosen platform, improved, in order to ensure that this work is still relevant. Of course, the need for a web programmer will always be, but the scope of their responsibility is gradually disappearing from the front-end development.
3. Responsive Design
A few years ago the site was “responsive” if he just worked on desktops, tablets and smartphones. With the advent of smart watches, TVs and other tech devices, the definition of “responsiveness” dramatically expanded and continues to expand.
Each platform has its own unique requirements. In tablets and smartphones very similar system of interaction, and the main thing for them was the selection of a suitable size of content and easy navigation.
However, smart watches, for example, even the navigation system needs to be completely revised to adjust to the way we use the device. For them no longer fit design that focuses on smartphones, and the site is optimized for desktop PCs will not necessarily work correctly on a smart TV.
To find solutions to these new challenges will require some time, but by the end of 2015, a huge selection of different smart devices make web designers to adapt their methods.
4. Sleek design will fill every pixel
Appearing in some industry sectors in such giants as Microsoft, Google and Apple, flat design trend is at its peak of popularity.
While the debate about the problems with a flat design in the field of user interfaces do not cease, the general consensus is that it is a suitable method for web design.
This is due not only to the way we use the web content, but also with the Web technology. Sleek design is subject to the principles of minimalism, which in turn leads to a site simple, orderly, fast and focused on the content.
This approach is not only aesthetically pleasing but also very practical, allowing visitors to interact with the content and evaluate it, no matter what distractions.
5. Large Image
Bigger is not only text – image too!
Once upon a time it was important to limit the size of the image due to the limited bandwidth networks, but over time, this problem is becoming less and less relevant. As a result, large images filled the Internet.
In 2015, the image will be in the spotlight thanks to the new interesting features. Will appear amazing techniques for responsive resize, extraction of primary colors for the background and optimizing images for the minimum load on the server.
In addition, the main trend in 2015 will be the use of images as the background. Blur and various filters allow the text to “float on top” without prejudice to the usability.
Designers gradually get used to the fact that they can use huge images in your projects, and thus can be expected that these figures will occur more and more often!
6. Animation scrolling parallax effect and microinteraction
Perhaps the most impressive trend was the effect of parallax scrolling.
We are faced with him everywhere, even on large sites of some products from Apple and Google. The results speak for themselves: the presence of parallax scrolling can improve the site as much as 70%!
Using the scroll bar instead of clicks as a method of navigation is a brilliant solution for several reasons. It takes less time to load the page, and, more importantly, it was possible to fall smoothly from one section to another without the annoying page refreshes. Information comes gradually.
In 2015, we can expect that more designers will make a step towards the parallax and will use it in their work.
7. Dawn vebgrafiki
How do people (the kind that receives 70-90% of information through sight), we learn the information better when it is presented in graphical form, which led to the popularity of infographics. Infographics – an easy way to transfer large amounts of information with a high degree of assimilation.
There was a new trend. Vebgrafika! As infographics, vebgrafika also transmits large amounts of information, but includes interactive elements that allow the user to physically interact with the information. It is visually appealing infographics and significantly increases the degree of assimilation of information by the user.
In 2015, designers realize that more and more customers will require interactive vebgrafiku as an integral part of a personal design. We should expect growth in popularity vebgrafiki and its adoption as an essential component of modern web design.
Prospection
Trends in web design come and go, but the creative ingenuity of designers leads to changes in the standards of web design. Designers transform ideas into trends and tendencies – in standards.
Trends listed here are fast becoming commonplace in web design and find even greater recognition in the coming year. Sites that do not use these elements will certainly die slowly in 2015.
Let us know in the comments what extra tendencies, in your opinion, should be included in this list and will be seen in 2015!
